Well, what do we have here then? A Cotswolds Cripps Stone Barn wedding from the Summer with the wonderful Sam and Martin. Lots of vintage details, great food, dancing and smiles. This was an amazing wedding.
The venue was the amazing Cripps Stone Barn. The Stone Barn is a lovely old Cotswold stone barn, situated in the heart of the Cotswolds near Aldsworth. It has amazing flag stone floors and a huge open fire place. Alongside are Dutch Barns used as the reception area, and has just the largest barbecue I have ever seen. From this they produced the most delicious sirloin steak pavés that were all carved by the head of each table. The food was to die for.
Sam arrived in an Indian built Austin Ambassador in her fantastic 50’s style dress, looking every bit a film star. Relaxing in the open air venue Martin laughed, joked and took selfies with the guests as they were seated and waiting for the grand entrance. Shortly followed by nerves and a bit of reassurance from the best man, more of whom later…
The ceremony nearly broke everyone’s hearts as their son read a passage from Winnie the Pooh. I caught a bit of dust in my eye, I wasn’t shedding a small tear. After, we went for a short walk in the fields for some very relaxed photos, really a good chance for them to relax and relive the day so far.
I have already mentioned the food and the best man. What a best man he was! The delivery of his speech and the content had me in stitches. I do not know what he does for a living. But in this case, he really should give up his day job as there is definitely a career in comedy awaiting.
Later as the sun set and the braziers were lit, I popped my drone into the air for a few shots of the venue. I am now a fully qualified (by the CAA) drone pilot with my PFaW! Please get in touch if you are thinking of some aerial shots of your wedding.
Thank you for reading this far. If you are interested in my photography for your wedding, or you are getting married at any of the Cripps Barns, please get in touch.
